From water taxis to bicycles… conveyor belts to sculptures… and more

Centro Inox, the Italian Stainless Steel Development Assn, has recently reported in its quarterly publications, Inossidabile 212 and 213, on the wide and varied uses of stainless steel in many walks of life in Italy and further afield.

In the transport sector, for exam-ple, Venice has tried to unify the image of the municipal water taxi stations as much as possible, includ-ing the shelter – a recognisable urban element for each station. For all structures, due to the marine environment, the choice of the designers was oriented towards stainless steel EN 1.4404 (AlSI 316L), to guarantee corrosion resistance in view of the aggressive atmosphere.
