When UK stainless bar import quotas tighten on 1 July 2026, Sheffield-manufactured PRODEC® falls outside the new restrictions entirely.

The measure cuts import quotas by 60% and raises tariffs on above-quota stainless bar to 50% – a material shift in procurement economics for anyone sourcing from overseas. Offshore Stainless & Alloys, part of the Langley Alloys group, has made PRODEC® its standard stocking grade across all three austenitic grades, manufactured at Marcegaglia’s Sheffield facility and unaffected by the new regime.

The commitment covers round bar in 316L, 304L, and 303 from 10mm to 180mm diameter, and cold drawn bar from 7.925mm to 100mm – held in depth and available ex-stock.

For machinists, supply security is only part of the picture.
